Project Manager

Location: Braine-l’Alleud, BE

Duties & Roles:

  • Project Management Execution: Define, document, and execute projects or sub-projects, ensuring their smooth transition into live service. Apply appropriate project management methods and tools across all phases. Prepare realistic plans covering scope, schedule, quality, risk, and communications.
  • Monitoring & Delivery: Track activities against schedules and manage stakeholder involvement. Monitor costs, times, quality, and resource utilization, taking corrective action if agreed tolerances are exceeded. Deliver projects on time, scope, and cost while developing project proposals based on customer agreements.
  • Requirements Definition: Manage scoping, definition, and prioritization activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity. Facilitate stakeholder input, establish baselines, obtain formal approvals, and ensure full traceability to source.
  • Risk & Contract Management: Identify and assess risks and vulnerabilities, developing specific mitigation strategies. Act as a routine contact point between the organization and suppliers regarding contract management, collecting performance data, and creating standard reports.
  • Leadership: Manage project teams to deliver on customer expectations. Provide regular status reports and support higher-role Project Managers from initiation to closure. Deputize for senior project management staff when required.

Skill, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in information systems, physics, electronics, or a related scientific/engineering discipline, plus 2 years of post-related experience. Alternatively, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by at least 6 years of extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the post.
  • Qualifications: A recognized formal Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, or equivalent experience).
  • Sector Experience: Recent experience (less than 3 years) in C4ISR Project Management or engineering development projects within a large organization. Proven experience in project management tools, cost management, and labor tracking.
  • Core Skills: Strong briefing and writing capabilities, with the ability to communicate effectively using tact and diplomacy.
  • Desirable Traits: Prior experience in an international environment combining military and civilian elements. Understanding of NATO’s structure, including ACO and ACT.
  • Clearance: A valid NATO Secret security clearance is mandatory.
