Network Engineer (ID&E-OPEX)

Location: Mons, Belgium (100% on-site)

Duties & Role:

  • Perform fault resolution on routing & switching infrastructure
  • Support troubleshooting across NATO sites
  • Maintain and standardize network infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
  • Configure and test network scenarios
  • Design, configure, and maintain routing infrastructure
  • Evaluate tools and propose improvements
  • Conduct site surveys and system acceptance testing
  • Support NATO operations and exercises

Skill, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree + experience (or equivalent)
  • 4+ years Cisco routing & switching experience
  • CCNP (minimum)
  • Strong experience with:
    • Network monitoring tools (Splunk, HP Openview, etc.)
    • Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS)
    • LAN technologies (VLAN, STP, HSRP, etc.)
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting (Python, Perl, etc.)
  • Knowledge of security technologies (IPSEC, Firewalls, IDS)
  • Experience with virtualization and datacenter technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Experience in large multi-vendor networks
  • NATO Cosmic Top Secret clearance required
