Location: Remote (with limited travel to NATO facilities across Europe as required)
Duties & Roles:
Industrial Matchmaking Support: Identify non-traditional suppliers, tech scale-ups, and SMEs with validated manufacturing needs (including via DIANA and the NATO Innovation Fund) and facilitate introductions with production facilities via the NATO Engine platform.
Capacity & Demand Analysis: Analyze production capacity and manufacturing-as-a-service needs across key fields such as additive manufacturing and specialized engineering services based on industry submissions to NSPA.
Pilot Framework & OKRs: Formulate structured B2B matching criteria, define and monitor Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and track industrial matchmaking metrics (e.g., cross-border pairings, time-to-contract) without acting as a contracting commercial party.
Workshops & Capability Scaling: Organize and conduct expert sprints and workshops bringing together factories, startups, NATO D2IA, and NSPA. Deliver evaluation reports and actionable recommendations on resolving commercial friction to scale the NATO Engine.
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
Manufacturing Innovation Track Record: Proven track record in manufacturing innovation, industrializing products with scale-ups, and building B2B partnerships between large enterprises and emerging tech firms. Demonstrated delivery of at least one relevant contract within the last 5 years.
Regulated Sector Knowledge: Experience navigating heavy industrial sectors within highly regulated environments (e.g., aerospace and defense), utilizing civilian production for defense needs.
Methodology & Framework Design: Demonstrated capability in designing and deploying repeatable operational frameworks across multi-stakeholder international organizations or government bodies.
Team Composition: Dedicated lead resource with at least 5 years of professional experience in manufacturing innovation, supported by team members with a minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial matchmaking and B2B partnerships. Fluent spoken and written English.
Security Clearance: None required (the statement of work is executed entirely at the NATO UNCLASSIFIED level).
