  • Designs, implements, and maintains complex data engineering solutions to acquire and prepare data.

Data science

  • Investigates the described problem and dataset to assess the usefulness of data science and analytics solutions.
  • Applies a range of data science techniques and uses specialized programming languages.

Understands and applies rules and guidelines specific to the industry, and anticipates risks and other implications of modelling.

  • Selects, acquires and integrates data for

  • Advises on the effectiveness of specific techniques based on project findings and comprehensive research.

Data visualization

  • Applies a variety of visualization techniques and designs the content and appearance of data visuals.
  • Operationalizes and automates activities for efficient and timely production of data visuals.
  • Selects appropriate visualization approaches from a range of applicable options.
  • Contributes to exploration and experimentation in data

User experience evaluation

  • Evaluates design options and prototypes to obtain user feedback on requirements of developing systems, products, services or devices.
  • Tests the usability and accessibility of components and alternative designs.

Skill, Knowledge & Experience:

  • A minimum requirement of a relevant degree at a nationally recognized/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar role, or experience performing these functions roles as part of another job.

Demonstrable experience with at least one programming language, such as Python, R, or C#.

  • Experience with commercially available or open source data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Grafana or R Shiny.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, such as SQL

Desirable Experience and Education:

  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements;
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT.

Training & Certifications

ITIL Foundation, DevOps Foundation and certifications proving the competency level in programming/software development skills
